If I were a betting man, I would place money on the fact my wife has a closer psychological profile to my readers than me. For instance, our meal yesterday was an adaptation of 2 recipes found in our google of food magazine that inhabit our kitchen. What a great way to finish off a Wednesday night. My favorite realty tv show decided to return to what made it an excellent show. Gone were the production edits and manipulation. Rather, a basic Quickfire Challenge showcasing skills that even home chef’s can appreciate. Further, an Elimination Challenge presenting a twist which encouraged creativity. Finally, no drama at the Judges Table. As always, spoilers are ahead, so click at your own risk. ...More...

Imagine your first winter holiday memory. For me, it was Christmas 1980. Our kitchen table was a sugary explosion of at least 10 different kinds of cookies. My mom spent the whole day cooking and night icing our treats to give to friends and family. One smell dominated the whole house. When I asked my mom what it was, she said “that is Nutmeg sweetie.” From that day, I was under the spell of the fruit from the tropical tree Myristica fragrans. If you want to know more about this spice that is rumored to have hallucinogenic effect, please continue ...More...
